Total Posts: 1 | I have seen a few programs that sort of do this, but none that I really like. In your oppinion, what is the best app avalible for solving equations that are like:
F(9)=X^4+5X-2
I really could use something like this, especially for exponents and roots. |

Total Posts: 375 | If your talking about solving equations in terms of X then your better off learning it, I don't think there are any good programs that can do that. I may be wrong though. |

Total Posts: 375 | Just thought I'd also point out that if you can't solve
F(9)=X^4+5X-2
then you should [b]really[/b] learn your math. If you have the "x" in f(x) then you just plug it in and that's your "f" which is also your "y".
In this case...
F(9)= X^4+5X-2
F(9)= (9)^4 + 5(9) - 2
F(9)= 6604
I'm guessing you meant an equation where your not given one of the variables, in which case your example fails.

I would consider calc programs a save, learning is the given. |

Total Posts: 714 | Well it depends. Back in high school I learnd the stuff and programed it into the calc. I could do it on paper and just used the calc as a double check and or homework.
