Hello, i've downloaded a few pokemon games for my ti-84 plus but i don't know what app they run on (ie. mirage OS).

If you could tell me what program or where to download it that would help. thank you.

It depends on what type of game it is. There are 2 game types, BASIC and ASSEMBLY. If you got it from the BASIC section you don't need any extra program to play the game, just press the PRGM button on your calculator and use the arrow keys to scroll down the list and find your program, then press ENTER to play it.

If you got the game from the ASSEMBLY section then you need an "extra program" known as a Shell. The most common shell is MirageOS, here is a link to it.

Once you get that to your calculator, press the APPS button and run MirageOS, then use the 2nd key to open the MAIN folder and play your game.

I've also just tried downloading pokemon purple and it does come up in my mirage OS Main folder but when i try to open it the screen just flashes a moment and it doesnt open. I've also tried reseting the ram and i've deleted all my other games in case this one takes up more space.

Pokemon Red is a BASIC program that can be ran directly from the program menu.

Pokemon Purple, from my understanding, is currently a demo only, and is really just for show. If you have any questions about Pokemon Purple, PM tifreak about it.

Umm.. to answer the actual question as to why it flashes.. its because of MOS seeing there is insufficient RAM to run, so it returns back to the MOS screen.

As DSP said, it is a demo only, though I really should post the last demo I released to ticalc and calcg.. I really, really should do that..
