Do any of you know where I can purchase some headphones for my calculator or at least the adapter. I'd like to find some that won't be that expensive. An actual store would be best.

Just look at the adapters and find one that looks like it would fit best.

you are going to be adapting from 2.5mm to 3.5mm... that should help a bit... (2.5mm male to 3.5mm female)

You might even be able to find headphones with that size on it already. For the most part, the ones I have seen have been pretty cheap. Just whichever you choose to go with.

Also, if you use DoorsCS with that Media player, you can play some songs on it. If you had an 86, I know there is a mario game with sound.

No actually it can do a wide range of sound vibrations. Just AM though and only 2 sounds at the exact same time. :(

I am wondering if anyone tried old Xbox headphones yet? Because they fit pretty fine without an adapter in the 83+/84+ link port

do you need an app or a program on the calc to use sound, and what calcs can play sounds?

As far as I know all of them do. And yes you need an App or a program. Omnicalc works and the others featured here should work to.

Just get the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, as stated way up top. It works just fine.

Is there a program that will play sound for a ti-84 + SE? If So can I Get a link please?
As for headphone adapter its not hard to make.
The Tip of a jack is Positive and the side is negative. Hot glue some wires together that fit in the port should work.

If you want decent quality, you are better off spending the $2-$3 for the adapter.

As to things that play music on the 84+, There is an audio player for DoorsCS that is decent enough, utilizing software from.. realsound by Jim_e of revsoft, if memory serves. Check around on cemetech.net for more on that tho.

And for the love of everything, don't try and explain yourself to a Radio Shack store worker. Always act like you're going right in to get a very particular and obscure adapter, you know exactly where everything is, you're just thinking through what you need on that trip, and you don't need any help.

I despise Radio Shack, but it's the only local store with parts like that.

Thats why you come in and talk to you local Geek Squad Agent instead.
