whenever i try to run mario 2.0 the screen shakes and it makes the game very hard and unenjoyable to play. Has anyone else had this problem? And is there anything I can do to fix this?

The answer to your question can be found here, in the FAQ.
If that doesn't help, I don't know.

Hey .. This is off-topic but if i install MirageOS or ION, does that "destroy" my calc? Can I still do my math problems and stuff on it? (Ive got a Ti-84 plus).

No, you will still be able to run games and do math.

It is much easier to suggest solutions when you know nothing about the problem.

i have the exact same problem. i tried running super mario on ION first and it was really shakey and slanted, so then i tried running it on Mirage and had the same problem. i don't know what to do and am very disappointed.

If you have trouble with a slanted display in Mario, download this, run it, and you'll be fine.

I wonder why this problem happens in some calculators. Mario worked fine for me when I first downloaded it. I own a TI 84+ SE myself. However, i did see this problem before when I transferred the game to a friend. It's really strange, its the same type of calc and it has some rly weird graphic problems. I wonder why this happened to some calcs in the TI 84+ SE family. Anyways, I couldnt play Penguins by Bill Nagel (the guy who made the graphics ogf Mario)cuz the graphics r blurry and there r multiple copies of enemies. Glad to know theres a file that can fix graphics problems.

Essentially, the problem comes from how the LCD is hooked up to the rest of the calculator. The only way to modify the displayed contents of the LCD is by sending data, byte by byte and waiting each time for the LCD to be ready to receive the next one. Now, the operating system on the TI-84+/SE has a built-in routine that programmers can call for the calculator to delay just the right amount of time in between bytes, and this routine works on most calculators. The problem comes from a relatively small number of LCDs that process instructions a bit slower, and consequently aren't ready to recieve the next byte by the time that the delay routine on the calculator has finished. This throws off the calculator's display and makes gamers unhappy. All that the fix-it-up program does is extend the time that the said routine takes to finish. This entire problem would vanish completely if the LCDs were connected directly instead like they are on the TI-85, TI-86, and 68k calculators.

It's a little late, but welcome to CalcG! Due to its being 10 months old, this topic is locked, but the discussion could continue in a new one if anyone has the initiative to create it.
