Total Posts: 96 | Most of this is directed at dprog but if anyone else can solve the rubik's cube feel free to post.
Just a few questions I felt like asking, along with the answer I would give.
1) What method do you use? -I use a variation of the beginner method that comes with the rubik's cube.
2) Do you ever do any one handed or foot cubing? -Yes.
3) How long have you been cubing? -about 3 years for me.
4) Why did you start cubing? -I just wanted to do it because no one else I knew could.
5) Who or what got you started? -For me it was my dad, he gave me an old rubik's cube from the 80's he had, along with a book on how to solve it.
Sorry if this seems like a lot, but I just like to know about people.... And it didn't seem fair not to answer.

Total Posts: 69 | 1) I start at the top and work my way down. It's the best way unless you want to memorize 92 different sequences of 50 moves each.
2) Yes, about 8 years ago I solved it one-handed AND I also solved it with my feet. One-handed took me about 5 minutes, with my feet about 10.
3) I started about 8 years ago.
4) I started because it was cool and I was jealous that my friend could solve it. Since then, I've taught about 30 people how to do it, who have taught many themselves, so I feel that I'm responsible for half of the U.S. "cubers" for learning how. :-)
5) My friend, Chris Matheson.
My personal best for the regular cube is 40 seconds. I did that 7 years ago. I occasionally solve them now. My 4X4X4 record is about 7 minutes and 5X5X5 is around 15. That 5X5X5 really hurts your hands when you go for a fast time. It just takes FOREVER. |

Total Posts: 69 | PS people, don't tell us that you used to pull off the stickers when you were younger and put them on again to solve it. It's really not funny because EVERYONE tells me that they did that when they were younger. |

And on a better note: I beat my record for feetsolving! It is now: 5 min and 40.15 sec.
