File Reviews ImplementedAndy

No, I don't mean writing reviews for files -- we've had that for a while. What I do mean is if you find a file that shouldn't be in the archives for any reason (inappropriate material, no/inadequate readme, doesn't work, et cetera), you can click the button at the bottom of the file's page and fill out a report. All site staff will be able to review your submission, and if action is needed an Administrator will take it.

Please, report a file that doesn't follow the guidelines. It helps us keep our archives of high quality.

I would also like to announce that we have "hired" three new staff members to assist us with this. They are Lunchbox, TI Freak, and alex10819. Congratulations!

Unrelated update: We have had three news articles in the past twenty-seven hours. I do believe this is the highest post rate since I joined the staff in March.

A glimpse? Maybe, or just like an iceberg where 90% of the insanity is under the surface.

This makes up for the lack of news! Yay! I'm off to design a color scheme, report files, and have a happy new year.

Re: File Reviews ImplementedBullFrog
Will the author be notified before any action is taken against any of their files? I don't think I have anything that will conflict witht he guidelines in the archives, but I'd sure like a chance to fix things if I could.

Yes, we would notify the authors when their stuff will be removed. This is of course at the reviewers discretion but overall I think our review staff won't have any problem notifying the author. There may be cases where we will not take the time to do so but problems I've seen thus far, authors were informed of the removal or necessary action from their side.
