Seklorean OS (TI-86) UpdatedJayhawk
William White of Really Bored Productions II has updated Seklorean OS shell for the TI-86. This new version packs many features such as 81 functions for use from TI-BASIC, image compression, a built-in EBook viewer, the ability to play sounds, support for starting six games just by selecting the level from the shell interface, and of course a very impressive greyscale shell interface into a mere 4.1k.

While this program has not been added to our archives, please visit the Seklorean OS download page at ticalc.org. If you find this software useful, be sure to leave the author positive feedback in the form of a review or a kind e-mail thanking him for his hard work.

Interesting, even though I don't own an 86, I looked at this program's info page on ticalc a few days ago. :-)

The only time I've used 86 was when my friend game it to me to load some games for him. This is a really good calc, while I don't like the menu system on it, it's easily the best one in the z80 series. Btw, grayscale is by far much better on 86 than on any other calc. Well, maybe HW1 89 was about as good... Only limiting thing on 86 was its small memory which pretty much disencouraged any development of pic viewers or games with more than 4 or 7 grays. Oops, this went kinda OT. Anyway, good shell but for a somewhat dead calc. Probably the best shell thus far, definitely beats my favorite Rascall shell.

Oh, yeah, I forgot, I did that a couple years, I had a 15 minute crash course in 86 program running, shells, and such. Because I was asked to put some games on a friends 86, and I was at the same curious as to the graphics on it.

This shell is quite good. It is one of the only ones that is constantly updated. Good job, William! Try this shell, and email him feedback. I have talked with him, and he takes comments very well. Compare this version to previous releases. Notice the drastic changes!
