I have put calculators games on my TI-84 plus in the past, so I know it has worked. But wanting extra ram and archive space, I removed most of the applications that come on the calculator. I kept transform, login, and finance. Now, transfers of any kind will not work. Official Texas Instrument downloads, games, simple programs, I just keep getting an error message saying the transfer did not work. I think one of the apps i removed was necessary for transfer.(possibly the cbl/cbr application) HELP Please!

Note: I did not delete the apps totally, I have them backed up on my computer so I can transfer them back to my calc if it'd work.

I highly doubt that you deleted anything necessary for file transfers. Try clearing up some memory in the RAM.

You can delete all the apps if you wanted to. With the exception of Finance (Its a built in app and can't be deleted.) There is no apps that have anything to do with transferring files from your comp to ur calc or vice versa.
If you can tell me exactly what the err message said I probably will be able to help you more. The more detail the better.

It is much easier to suggest solutions when you know nothing about the problem.

Hmm...I think I remember a similar error happening to me once. I can't remember what I did about it. You are using TI Connect v.1.6, right?

Speaking of 1.6, what I hate is that there was a program editor in the beta but not in 1.6, except on macs. Stupid mac-only editor!

What link cable are you using? If it is the USB to USB mini, there have been lots of problems of late with TI-Connect. Try re-installing TI-Connect, or use TILP.

There's nothing on the calculator you can delete that will mess up file transfers.

Unless you hax0r the OS. Which is rather difficult to do with the small selection of keys available on the calc's keypad.

Yeah, you can't screw things up unless you've been messing with CalcSys or something.

thanks for clearing it up for me that i didn't take off anything important. I believe the message said Unable to Communicate, USB transfer error. I am using usb mini to usb and i have tried it on most of my usb ports. I am also running Ti-connect v1.6. This software works for my brother's character though, and if it doesn't work soon i plan on trying a program transfter using the calc to calc cable.

Just keep trying, perhaps try while logged in as another user or try resetting the computer.

MirageOS. The author of CrunchyOS has left the calculator development scene and so will not be updating the shell. The MirageOS author is still active and has put out a beta test for the next version, so we know it's almost ready.

There are lots of them. Mario, Tetris, fall down, paper plane, Acelgoyobis (I think that is how it is spelled, it is a pinball game)

Just go open up the asm catagory and start checking them out :)

If a game doesn't show up in your Mirage folder, then you probably have to run it from the homescreen. If it's a BASIC game, just run it. If it's an ASM game, go to the catalog by hitting 2nd-0, scroll to ASM(, hit enter, select the program from the menu, hit enter, and run it.

Only games that are made for Mirage, or BASIC programs that have a colon in the top line.

I could've started a new thread w/this question but i guess i'll just ask it in here. Today I tried to send a game(tetris) from my ti-84 plus to a ti-83 plus calculator using a basic link cord. It said an error occured in transfer, something like an xmit transfer error. I have successfully sent programs and apps to a ti8plus in the past but this calc won't let me send anything to it, not basic programs, games, or apps. is there anything i can do to get the transfer to work? what exactly is an x-mit error?

X-mit error is any error that occurs during linking. In order to send correctly, the recieving calc must start the link first and within a second or so the sending calc must send. But you probably knew that.
