AMS 2.08 Released for 68K Calcs!!!Barrett
It's been a long time since the last AMS update from TI, but here it is. AMS 2.08 is out and available to download from the TI ( http://education.ti.com ) download store. (you have to log in/register there first... kind of annoying but it MAY be worth it). This new AMS features a clock and a cool little desktop with icons under the 'APPS' button. According to somewhat reliable sources, the clock takes up almost no battery whatsoever, so don't worry about that. Compatability is a problem for certain kernal based programs. However, most, if not all nostub programs should work.

another negative i just noticed is that the OS takes up about 70kB extra room... so you'll lose that much archive space... also it takes just a couple kB's more RAM (just a couple)

this is sooo awesome, calcs finally have a real working clock w/t any expanders or anything! gosh, why the heck TI ( http://education.ti.com ) didn't put the clock feats in older AMS if it was already there...anyways, new AMS does each even more space so, you may have troubles fitting SF2T with other games from now on. I didn't find losing about 70-80kb of mem lethal since i don't even fill up half of the mem at most times. however having a few kb less ram may act bad and render some memory hog games like Sonic now working since they already needed all the ram to run and not archiving something caused them not to work. k, from my impression AMS 2.08 is a nice thing, but surely we'll see later exactly how good it is. btw, i noticed my calc running a tad faster that with AMS 2.05 did anybody else notice the same?
