i had the Calc BC exam today... i ACED the multiple choice calculator section.... too bad that was like 1/5 of the total points though... i didn't do as well on the other 3 sub-sections. Free responses were easier than the ones my teacher gave us to prepare, but i still didn't get all of them... the only easy one was the one where you had to find the area of region R which was between the lines x=1, y=x^(1/2) and e^(-3x).. and then you had to find the volume if you rotate that around the line y=1, and then the volume if that was the base, and all lines perpendicular to the x axis made an equalateral triangle (or was that the one where the height was 5x the length?)...

i have physics B next week... anyone else take calc BC?

Nope, not Calc BC :). I'm not that big of a math guy so I never felt like taking AP Calc in HS. I did pretty good on AP Comp Sci tho, but I forget the actual score. I was really tired after the stupid exam tho, it was way too long. I absolutely hate free responce tho, I do much better job on the computer screen whhere its easier to see what you've coded and to change stuff, I think I got like 4 or 5 on the exam tho. GL on your AP Physics man.

This might be a bit unrelated, but what about ACT/SAT? I took the ACT in April, and I got a 29. Anyone else care to say?

I hate standardized tests. They are not very accurate when measureing intelligence. I have AP Chem on Tuesday. Barret You should do just fine on the Physics test. If Calc is easy, physics is a breaze. I took AP Calc AB last year and my school doesn't teach BC. Volumes are easy, but I can't remember how to do them at the moment.

I totally agree with Digital's opinion on sstandardized tests.
As with AP Physics, it shouldn't be that hard at all. MC's were quite easy and FR was too, they did require a lot of calculations and all the work shown, but nothing too hard if you were paying attention during the class.

actually, standardized tests are probably the best way to measure intelligence.

The problem we get sometimes is certain tests try to measure knowledge when they should be testing intelligence.

I got a 29 on the ACT without any preparation and no food or sleep for like 30 hours before it.

I have yet to take any SAT's

Well I'm also kind of biased when I talk about those tests. A few years ago I took the SAT and scored somewhere around a 1360. When my mom got the score she showed my aunt, and shortly thereafter lost the letter. Just recently I needed to get a copy of my scores for some college stuff. College Board could not find that score and so the highest score they have for me was a 1080. We spent about a week talking to CB and having them search for my records but it turned out that they lost that score! It doesn't matter any more now with how I'm getting into college, but that just pissed me off! I could go on but I think its a good place to stop right here

I took the Computer Science AB test last wednesday, it was really easy! The Literature & Language test the previous day was definetely NOT easy, I think I got a 3. Neither tests were my TI-89 allowed on, and that would have been a major area for cheating with the C compiler available for the 89.

I have AP Chem tomorrow and plan on getting a 4 or 5. the only problem I had in our practice tests was nomenclature (naming compounds). All I have to do is memorize some stuff today and I should be fine.

Well, good luck man coz you'll need it. My friend too AP chem and he said it was pretty tough. I just went with honors coz I didn't feel like doing lots of writing in AP chem, though it turned out I did more. :)

Edit: oh yeah, I just absolutely hate homework more than anything. several teachers always kept kicking my arse for doing hw in their classes instead of umm...learning i guess. AP classes are weird, in some you don't do nada (AP computer sci) but in others you do a lot.

Well I'm out of the Test now. its been about 20 minutes and I feel like going to sleep now. There were a few hard problems but I feel I did well. BTW I also feel the same way about hw as you do.
