tks Digital. i'm working on and off on finishing the new file system along with other goodies to make the site more visitor oriented. among the nice feats are rating system, review system, download counters and stats. we've also been thinking of reviwing POTM or POTW. so, there's definitely some stuff going on and i work on this when i'm free from my current job. oh, new version of Tankers and SAS are coming very soon!

newest tankers is now on ticalc.org.... this is NOT the one we were announcing earlier... this one just works on AMS 2.08 and has several new features.

no, sorry Z.. i uploaded it before then... btw, i might as well make animated tiles while i'm at it... (remember that doing stuff like 'shoot over water' makes the game less usable with other tile sets if we ever decide to use those.... but i might come up with a system for those one day.

why? i don't see anything wrong about being able to shoot over water. in fact, it seems more weird when you can't! also, we need more Zelda tiles, or maybe even another tileset as well. btw, we can just have one big tileset with lotsa different tiles. that'd be easier because people won't need extra files, and all maps will still work.

I think being able to shoot over water would be a neat thing to be able to do, it'd be nice if we could have customizeable tilesets, where u like draw the tile, give it a #, and the # is a certain attribute, like, can drive over it, can't drive over it, can shoot thru, can't shoot thru, of course all put together, that'd also be neat if there are tiles u can hide underneath where u can't see urself, or it's more difficult, maybe tiles that slide (ice).

all very good ideas... future versions will hopefully have customizable starting points; 3-4 players (w/ splitter) water whatever... i'm not sure about people making their own tiles though.... i'm not that great of a windows programmer...

Barret, I've seen you mention a spliter for the calc-calc link cable, but I've never heard of it before. Where can you get one?

BTW I noticed that the update of tankers is about 1k larger but the only difference I see is acceleration of the bullet. What else did you change/add?

it uses the new tigcc... so that might be the reason.. but i'm not sure...

about the splitter... i'm not sure... i'd imagine from radio shack (people have told me about it) and it's only theoretical that it would work... i'm not sure about how electricity would be handled.

yeah, you get it from Radio Shack and it does work. i remember having an old chat program made in 83 basic that worked with up to 4 calcs.

Thanks for the help. Barret, PLEASE make it so that in the next update of takers you can shoot over the water. If you look and test out my maps you will see how beneficial it will be for game play.
