I'll test it when I get a chance.

EDIT: The 89t version can be run from the home screen or a launcher, ASM3.0 removed the file size restriction, I guess.

No size restriction eh? About time! Btw, I found the editor source but its looks like B may have to rework some of it since its not the latest one.

Correction: AMS 3.0, not ASM, dunno how I typed that. :-)

when i get my 89(T?) today, i'll try it. course, it will take me a while to figure out how to run it, im sure i'll manage.

By the way, does the level editor make levels for just the 89, and if so, is there a way to alter the levels so another kind of calc could use it?

the levels should work on all 68K calculators.

"oki, i may have found a problem, or maybe i'm just stupid with my new 89T.

I downloaded both of the program files and the map. The remaining ppg file refuses to be put on the calc, probably because i had the tdat prog. with the same name on it. The game, however, refused to read the prog and insisted on having the ppg. So i just delete the prog and stick on the ppg file in it. So i try again, and a message Illegal Instruction appears at the top. Should I have ran H3W patch first, did I do the wrong thing, or was this a mistake in the programming that did not allow tankers to pick up on the program?"

Disregard this, i just got it working. I was just being stupid and i figured it out now. I have to run TDAT to work it.

yeah, the ghostbuster program just turns the ppg into an excecutable.. eliminating the need for the launcher... unfortunately it's still named 'tdat'... i'll have to change that somehow.

If you have TI-connect 1.5 installed, right click on the tdat, and goto properties, and there will be some sort of "TI" tab, click there, and you can rename it.

Is anyone ever going to port it to the 83/+/SE?

Tankers 68k -- Testers Needed!allynfolksjr
In a word, no, it cannot be done, the 83/84 does not support C, and it has a smaller screen. The authors would have to competly rewrite the game, as the 68k and the z80 processers are completly different. :-/

So I'm assuming that it works? Has anyone had any troubles? And has anyone even tried it?

I've played the one player to death... since I'm the only person with an 89 in my general area. That seems to work. I have made two levels using the editor, once I make 5 I will send them to the calc and test them.

A 1p campaign mode would be cool. Would it also be possible to play online using a calc to comp link with internet access? cuz that would be amazing.

The editor works fine... but I wish when I opened a file it wouldn't lie to me and say FILE NOT FOUND, since it does open. I have yet to try my levels.

Btw Jc, if you make cool Tankers maps, please submit them to the site. This will expand out map collection and everyone will get to enjoy a better selection of maps. Thanks.

It works fine so far on my HW2 89 (AMS 2.05).

One suggestion: I think it would really add to the game if you included an option to allow for the 'old' Tankers control/shooting style to be used as well. The user could then choose which of the two gameplay settings he/she likes better. The AI tanks would probably also be changed by this setting as well.

Fisch2, the source code is lost so if you want to play the old way, keep both versions on your calculator... unfortunately you won't be able to use new maps with the older version.

On a side note, I think that was one feature that I was looking in to... I may have implemented it without remembering it so you can try holding different buttons while you turn and see what happens... but if nothing works.. oh well. We can have a contest to see who can turn the old source into the current binaries first.

Losing the source code has got to stink?!

Oh well, this version is very promising and I hope someone continues the project.

It all works fine for me, although on the 89T, tdat needs to be run. You should be okie to release it.

;-) Yeah, of course it works, tdat was processed by my 89t then DCCed to Barrett.
