Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else would like to have a file find by its ID. I myself had encountered such need many times and had to manually type the ID inside a new window after i open one of the file links there. I'm asking this to see if its going to be useful to others, not just me. Thanks.

I don't. I usually access files via their name and rarely look at their IDs.

Yeah, maybe its just me coz I usually review all the site stuff like file reviews, etc. and therefore need to see what file they associate with. Anyway, I might add this feat when I get spare time...Thanks for the feedback though.
Just out of curiosity, does anybody use our search thing for whatever purpuse including searching for file you need? (Prolly not you Digital coz you're always around but others.)

i dunno if it would be useful, i mean most people woun't remember the id's anyways, while the names might be more useful. But i dunno.

lol! btw, just out of curiosity...has anyone had experience with these new technologies like thumb scanner or iris scanner? i heard one of the new Palm pilots that came out recently has a thumb scanner instead of password. all this stuff sounds very cool but i kinda doubt its very reliable. i haven't had any experience with those myself but would definitely like to know if anyone else had. cool stuff.

I don't have any of those, but i know that eye scanners are used on some ATM mechines. And i think thumb scanners are used in gov't areas sometimes.

Oh, something I was woundering, on the time and stuff on this site, what time zone is it? You u guys using GST?

Umm i'm in Maryland, USA and when i post i have a +6 hours from Maryland. Barrett is in California, USA. I think our host's server is in another country, I'm not sure which though. Barrett probably knows which. well, server admin site had a .cx extension...whatever country that is.

Edit: just for a reference, Maryland is in Eastern Time GMT -5:00.

i'm at -8 (PST or something) and it's 10:43 right now on my computer, 7:43 on the website, so that's like +1? The hosts are in germany, but the server itself is in USA somewhere.

I've always been curious about that stuff. I have never encountered the thumb scanners or iris scanners yet, but I've seen them on TV of course.
