We did have some content to put on it when we started it but once layout was made more things were added. >>With all of the frame layout and such, I'm guessing it was made using Dreamweaver, or similar program. The layout was first frameless (or just a few frames), then layout changed around to the current one and got a bunch of frame, at a later time Dreamweaver was used to improve the layout and make things nices. It could have been done by hand, but it'd be such a timewaster when nice tools such as DW are available. Tho, DW was quite expensive back then. >>Or sombody was just particularly good with java... Well, java would not necessarily be necessary to do that. Since most users have java applets disabled and some don't even have JVM making a website in java for general users would not be a good idea. Also, we didn't want to use iframes because of incompatibility with older browsers. Right now we could use iframes, but we'd still rather have better compatibility. >>and how long did it take for this site to get a good amount of visitors? I'm not too sure about the exact time frame, but I know it was a while. Once we got a link from TI, we started to get more visitors and basically became known. In general, we may actually own our existence to the nice webmaster of TI's website for kindly linking to us. Anyway, if I were to guess, we started to get good traffic in about seven months or so. Also, since my personal and Barretts websites got merged into CG any hits from these site went here. I think each site used to bring maybe 10-30 users daily. Not much, but it was a start. I still remember these days when me and B were like "wow, look at that! we've got another registered user today!". Hehe, its kinda interesting how things turned out. Back in those days calc.org was a big and well visited website but now is small comparing to ours. This and last years CG was also pushed into top 100K websites which is quite an achievement. Alright, I've gotta go so I'm going to finish this essay.

I think it may be fun and we do have some financial means to sponsor the gifts. I'll prolly make a topic about that so we can discuss that or you can just PM/email me with ideas if you think it'd be cool.
