I'm using Windows XP, and the Task Manager is locked.
Oh wait, did I say no start menu? I meant Programs menu, or Run, or Search, heck, I can't even right-click on these public computers. Fun fun. IE doesn't even trust its own trusted sites, too. |

of course, they didnt think to secure the firewall a bit better... i can turn off random computers if i hook my laptop into the network... hehehe... (but the thing with power is that is better when used in moderation) |

Total Posts: 2486 | Well, command prompt is small enough to carry with you on your trusty thumbdrive :). While public comps suck, well their user priveleges mainly, its always fun to hack them. I've have lots of fun back in high school hacking the comps and their crappy Novell Netware system (current NN system is much better and more secure tho). Hehe, good old days.

Total Posts: 465 | Erg, our computer admin is EVIL. She thinks that everyone knows NOTHING about computers, so every time we go there (as a class) we have to learn how to save and load. And if we are making a Power Point, we have to learn how to do that from scratch... EVERY %&@#&^ TIME! Hehe, but I did hack it with CMD. I found out the 'teacher' password, which actually lets you browse around all the drives and stuff, and lets you access the program menu. But the best of all... I figured out how to change the teacher password! Every teacher in school had the password "learn" before I changed it. Then, I simply changed it to "school", and the school went into utter chaos! :P |

Total Posts: 939 | mm, not really. Though, I did "hack" the proxy to make IRC and AIM work... Not really supposed to use those (and I rarely used AIM), but he didn't mind _for me_... teeheehee... (The proxy forwards WHATEVER you ask it to... He says they need that as a feature for some reason.) |

@Andy: Our school computers allow (for god knows what reason) batch files to access all drives on the compy and network, be they restricted or not. I know form experience. |

Well, SP2 turns the messenger service off by default -- so net send doesn't work. Also, any sane sysadmin turns it off. Also, screw the address, use the computer name. :) |

Total Posts: 507 | any sane sysadmin... then they must be insane retards at my school... instead of turnnig it off, if they see you on DOS they freeze your comp, take a screeny, and give you ISS... i know from experience... (i was typing "dir", but made a typo... they froze my computer before i could correct it, so the screen said "die", with no command line... somehow they thought i was sending messages like that... |

I used the C drive on the compy i used in school to store files i didn't want to lose to my teacher's rambo-style purging of my slightly inappropriate files (nothing too bad, just some photoshopped pictures of people in my class and some PC games form here, thank you JC :) ). |

Total Posts: 507 | lol... at our school we have network drives that any teacher can access... (i hate Novell)... for some reason though, if you know what you're doing you can access anyones files from the linux lab... (which is getting taken out cuz only us smart people know how to use it)

They have naming conventions for teachers' passwords and login names so that if you go on any compy in the school w/ Novell and you know the teachers first and last name, you can access all their files. I did it to my chem teacher's compy once, but only so I could get an article off the internet to show to the sub. Idiots... :fail_a: . |
