Hey everyone, as you may or may not have guessed from the title, i am going to bring back a very cool old game that was for the atari to the TI. The name of the game is called beserk, and i'm sure that most of you may have heard of it. It's a very low graphics game, but it was really fun, and in a way kind of hard. It's hard to describe, so i will try to get links that show the graphics and gameplay of it. If there is anyone out there that have seen the game then maybe you can help me out. The reason that i am telling you this is because i have to be honest that i can't program this game alone. That's why i am hoping that i can convince some of you TI programmers out there to help me. I will probibly hold the meetings in aim, in a big chatroom with all the programmers, so that we can swap ideas and help each other with the programming. for all you big time programmers that created arena and tankers if yur seeing this, i know that you can program this game easily. please do not(if you even care), because i would like to help program this. If anyone has questions, comments, or would like to help, please respond or email me at havoc_gundam@hotmail.com. I wait for your replys.

Hey, we already programmed that game. Sorry for forgetting to add it to our archives. The game is for 83 calcs and currently, you can snatch it [HERE] from ticalc. What calc are you planning the game for btw?

i'm pretty sure he wants to do it for the 89's cus he mentioned arena and tankers... go ahead and program it even if someone's already made it - the best part of programming isn't glory, it's the feel of accomplishment. do you know any C?

btw, Z, how many games did you and Paul make together? did you do the art for that one?

Oh, i see. Man i have so many questions and so many things to tell you about with terms of ideas. I will first start with questions. Actually first about the beserk game, i think i will make another version because(take no offence), it's not bad but i have a idea to inprove it. I was actually thinking for the 86, but now that i think about it, on 89 would be better. I'll see. Ok, questions.

What is C, that you mentioned above?

How in the world did you make thoses incredible graphics for games such as zelda and duke, and what programs did you use?

I have heard of a virtual TI that can be used on the personal computors, and heard that it is much better for programming TI games. does it exist? and where?

How do you load games to and from the computors? Especially to since i don't know what format you have to put the games in order to make them acessable. I know you put them in zip files. But how do you make TI format games and make them into files?

ideas.
1. rampart
2.clu clu (i have been thinking about doing this one for a while.)

comments: well, i have been looking on ticalc.org and i have been looking at some of the games. I relized that not all of them were really high tech games like those you have. So i also relized that it doesn't matter how it looks, i should be proud of my creations. So i am proud to say that i was wondering if you would like to have some of my games to put on your site for a download?

thanks.

Great, we'd love to hear your ideas, that's why this forum is here! Also, as Barrett said, programming isn't just to please others but for your own experience. Even if someone already made that game, so what, make your version and maybe it'll be even better.

EDIT: Oh, since you were thinking 86, of course there's no C for it. C is only on 68k calcs. If you plan to program for 89, then C is the best since its much easier than 68k assembly. It doesn't exist for z80 ones dues to compilation and processor problems. z80 is an 8 bit processor, that's why.

Okay, to start off, C is a high level programming language for calcs. It's a simplified version of C for calcs. If you know some C++ or other high level programming language its going to be much easier to learn. There's a compiler called TIGCC and it runs on windoze. It'll take care of calc format and will spit out a ready to run nostub program. You'll just send it via your calc linking software. Or just try it out on VTI to save time and not deal with crashes. TIGCC already has a program export button to automatically run your program in VTI. I and Barrett will find you some tutorials, or you can go have a look youself.

If you'd like your games added, you can just upload them in our file uploader and we'll add them in.

To B: I and Paul made many games, MANY didn't get released though. Those include Mega Man I showed you, 3D adventure game, checkers and War Craft. Some did get partially done but never till release point. Ones we released you probably already know, they're Lode Runner and Anarchy. The reast Paul made himself and I think he too the original Atari graphics. I'd be happy to answer other question or post already created art for others to use.

Of course you should be proud of your creations, not everyone who programs stuff is an artist and visa versa. Although its so, you probably shouldn't submit every singles one of your programs but only ones you consider best. As I said, anything you'd like added can be uploaded and we'll be happy to add them in. :) It seems that I should add a programming questions section to this forum. Anyone approve?
