It's not a huge "bug" persay, but my TI-89 is using AMS 1.05, and it says that -1^2 is -1. It should be +1.
My only guess is that the calculator is mistaking -1^2 for radical -1^2, otherwords known as i. It just bugs me.
Does this affect the other AMS versions?

no that's not a bug.

order of operations - the negative comes after the exponent

try (-1)^2

Billy, you have a pre 2.0x OS still! BTW, Barrett is right. Man upgrade to 2.09 so you can use the FLASH, don't worry all the games work fine on it.

1.05?? Wow... Even 2.05 is better than that. (2.09 if you want the latest and greatest.) I mean, really. What games are there that's worth having an ancient OS?

OK thanks B.

Whoops! Really bad typo there! I meant to type 2.05 not 1.05. Probably why I shouldn't stay up until 3-4AM constantly. (2:46AM now) Although, I think I do in fact have an old 1.05 OS stashed somewhere. :)
I remember the recalled 2.08 messed with game compatibility. Then a new 2.08 was released. What advantagtes does 2.09 hold, and would it affect game compatibility?
I have a HW1 TI-89 so the clock feature is worthless, because I lack the crystal in my hardware. :(

The "new" 2.08 wasn't changed at all. 2.08 is still 2.08. As for 2.09, it's basically the same thing, except it adds support for their TI Navigator system that costs a freakin' huge load of money to do any good...

Also 2.09 fixes some tring and hyperbolic function errors. If you don't want 2.05 go to 2.09 (I'm running it w/ no problems) do to the bugs in 2.08.
