My 83+ (which is the only graphing calculator I have without symbolic manipulation, and thus, allowed in my Calculus class), developed a leak or something in the LCD. You can see liquidy crystalline patterns in the lower left corner.

Should I try writing to TI and seeing how much it costs to replace?

Can you post a picture for us spiral. If it is past warrantee, ask them if you can do a trade-in and pay the difference.

Ouch. Thats bad. Go ahead and talk to them and see if you can get a trade-in deal, if they do that sort of refurbishing thing. If not get and 89 :)

I already have an 89, but I can't use it in calculus class (makes things too easy, teacher doesn't allow it, since i can do integral and all taht stuff without thinking)

Both of my calculus teachers (one prior, one present) allow their use but with the limitation of knowing stuff by hand before you can use it.
