Every time I try to extract a file to my calc, the computer always tells me there is an error, that it is unable to open the communication port. I have an 83+ SE, and Silver USB cable. Do I need a serial 9-pin connector to send files from Graph-Link to my calculator properly?

Hey, you only serial connector if you're using a serial cable.
In your case, make sure your calc is turned on and is on home screen. Make sure usb cable is plugged firmly into your computer and calc plug is also plugged in. If this doesn't help, try installing a latest version of TI-Connect. Resource cds that come with calcs often have an old version that has problems on certain computer configs. Also, refer to the installation manual because there's a specific order you have to intall link drivers and TI-Connect in (i don't have a usb link so i don't remember the correct order). I hope this was helpful.

I reccomend that you get TiCoonect, it's much better and you won't get that error.

You have to use ti-connect, graph-link isn't compatible with USB cables.

Oh... ok. I was trying to extract Final Fantasy to my calculator, because the readme said it would destroy my calc or something... Thanks for your help, Zkostic, calculatorfreak, and spiral.
