whelp...you can either...

1. Look at my FAQ on http://home.earthlink.net/~allynfolksjr ...but thats only for the 83+/SE and if you still need help...fill out the form...

OR...

2. Look at this sites FAQ...look at the bottom of your browser and click on FAQ...it's a visual one...but may take a while to download if you have a slow internet connection...

Well,I see your concern-and you're confused. Not to worry, I will continue to post the instructions till questions die down.

1) Download TiConnect from this site:

http://education.ti.com/us/product/accessory/connectivity/down/downloa
d.html

Or, if you have the CD, install it.

2) Make a TiConect Icon.

3) Download any games that are compatible for your calculator, for instance, if you have a Ti83, don't download games that are for the Ti83+, they won't work.

4) Read the Read-Me, this will tell you what files you need to send to your device, and what you don't.

5) Drag the files you just downloaded, and put them onto your desktop.

6) Drag the files on your desktop and drop them in the TiConnect logo.

Congrats! You have a game!

Here are some errors you might encounter:

1)The memory is too full to contiune downloading. Sorry-delete some other prgms, or apps, by going to 2nd +, and going into MemoryMaganement/Delete, or just delete for the 83.

2) Theres a link error. Check your settings, make sure they are correct, and make sure your calculator is plugged into the comouter correctly.

Also-you NEED a USB cable! This connect your computer to your calculator.

Whew! My hands hurt from typing so much! Hope you get the game this time!!

Post any other error you might still have.

Yes, but people still have a few problems, not that many, but a few. For some people-they refuse to read the FAQ cause their lazy.

some of them just don't really notice it, direct them to the FAq first, or else you could encourage peopel to ask questions for every little problem.

Okay, hey dude, you know, we gots a FAQ, it's been really helpful to alot of other people, maybe you should look at it? It's at the bottom middle of your screen, and it says FAQ in big letters. Or, here: FAQ

But if your question wasn't answered there, ask it here, maybe it wasn't covered in the FAQ .

actually there calcfreak...
the 83 and 83+ use the same processer and (mostly) the same code...

all basic games and asm run on both...except you must remane the file (.8xp for 83+, .83p for the 83)...and the 83 doesn't have flash (the archive, which means no mirageos, only ION)

BUT, sometimes they don't work of reach other, very rarely, but you should STILL check the read-me anyways, regardless.

That is incorrect that ASM games will run on both the 83 and 83+. The method of romcalls is slightly different, so they won't run.

yeah, 83 asm programs need a few changes such as a different header to run on a 83+. however, all 83 basic programs will run on 83+.

to hey dude, if you click on the faq link, just wait a little bit and then hit "stop" on your browser. this will load the page text but pics will remain unloaded. its just that answer to your question would be a bit long. also, don't forget the forum search option since your question has already been answered some time ago.

Wow, it seems the FAQ is taking too long for a lot of people to load.

BTW, if you have any other questions, ask em please.

I oppen the TI connect, do the device explorer, find my file, try to move it into the thing...and i get the message...the game is FF TOM 1.4 and have a TI-83+ SE if it matters. I appreciate the help. Thanx

Did you unzip it?

Open the .8xg file with Group Explorer to make sure u have the right file. Btw, FF: TOM isn't really that great.

Please tell us all the steps you do. Though, it sounds as if you have forgotten to unzip your files. If you're in XP just double click the zip you've downloaded and drag/drop files somewhere (like your desktop) and then drag/drop them them into the TI-Connect. If you've done that, try updating or reinstalling your TI-Connect, that can sometimes be a problem, at least it'll help you eliminate possible causes.

That error is a nice way of TI-Connect refusing to transfer the file(s) because their sum size is "too large" or there are "too many files" or it does not like the file for some reason. Try sending one or two files at a time. If that does not work then copy the files to your desktop and try sending from there. If that still doesn't work try the drag-n-drop method: Open Device Explorer, highlight all the files you want to send to your calc, drag the files over the device explorer and let go. If that still doesn't work, reboot your computer. If the problem persists re-install TI-Connect and/or contact TI or us.

Okay, so you donwloaded it right?

Well, just put the files onto your calculator like you usually would, downloading Mario onto your calculator takes time-and sometimes you don't have enough room . . .

Hope you get it. If not, post back.

Exact my point D! That's why I don't want to upgrade to a usb link. Besides, its just wasted one of my usb ports and I don't have anything else that uses a serial port. I like TI-Graph Link stability better and would go with it over TI-Connect anytime. Too bad it wouldn't work with a usb cable.

I rearely come across with this error Z. BTW, I've always gotten around it by doing the drag-n-drop method. Also that method alows the user to drop the stuff into a specific folder which can come in handy (at least for 68k calcs).

Well, I myself didn't have that error. When my cousin got her 83+ and a usb link I installed it for here w/t any problems at all. I've just heard over the boards that old version of TI-Connect has problems on certain pc configs so I was kinda encouraging people to get the latest version to begin with.
