ok i baught a new calculator a ti-84 plus . im seeing that alot of people are having problems.. mine is brand new . no manual but i got it off the internet. ok i have the ti connections and the usb and all but i went on this site and downloaded tetris , mario, and the oldschool games i used to play when i was a kid , but it was as easy as blowing into the game and putting it in. but this is complicated. i go to where i downloaded them onto my computer and open the zip file i extract them and then i left click on them and say send to ti device so i do that.. then i see ram or archive i dont know but after the transfer it is in my calculator.. so im on my calculator and i hit programs and it says *mario then *medit . i dont know cuz when i try to get in they say err. archived .. then im on my comp and i see at the bottom of the device explorer it says protected programs and it says all the stuff i tried to put in .. please help im new to all this and thanks

Games don't let you play levels when they're archived. You'll need to go unarchive your levels when you want to play them and archive them when you won't play for some time. This is so because archive memory is based on Flash technology and it technically has a limited number of writes to it. The number is really big but if every program would write many times it could really decrease the life of your calc.
Anyway, press [2nd] then [+] to go to memory menu, press [2] here and then press [1] to see all programs. Select the level set you want and press [Enter] to unarhive it. Archived items have a star (*) next to them. Also note that there are two versions of mario, 1.2 and 2.0 so 2.0 levels will not work on 1.2 and some 1.2 levels will glitch on 2.0. Hope this helps.

Edit
Mario will let you run archived levels, or at least mario 1.2. You can't edit them though.

You can buy a usb cable to connect your calc to your computer. It's called TI Graph Link and you can get it at most retail stores near you such as Best Buy, Staples, Walmart, etc. It should be in a range of $15-20.

TI Connectivity Cable, actually. "Graph Link" sounds less stupid but they don't use that name anymore.

Yeah, technically, but I got my serial Graphlink, so that's what I call it, as with alot of the older calculator users.
