I ran a game on my 89ti and at the top it says illeagal instruction. I have tried taking out all the batteries, tried pressing all the buttons, but nothing happens and the calculator continues to be frozen, except for being able to change the contrast and press 2nd, alpha and the diamond. HOW CAN I FIX THIS???

I *sigh* had to force reset the memory, ALL the memory, that includes archived things to. It reset everthing except for the OS and the built-in APPS. I did this by removing a battery and the putting it in again while holding (-) and )

The nonpatched program he ran tried to access some protected memory and the AMS didn't like that.

You know, a soft reset can fix that program a hard reset, press 2nd+left+right+on at the SAME time, and that will reload the OS, your RAM will clear, but who cares? Because you can run proggys from the archive.

I guess he learnt his lesson about not doing his homework about program compatibility before running a random game on his calc. :-)
