I have been trying SOOOOO hard to get a TI-89 ROM image for VTI. I have a few ideas to FINALLY get one. The first idea is, Ticalc.org says that you can download a ROM image from education.ti.com, but I can't find it, so you guys could tell me were to get it from there. My other idea was to find the ROM image that they use on the TI-Flash Studio, but I couldn't find that either, so you guys could tell me where to find it. Or, if I am REALLY desprate, one of you guys could e-mail your TI-89 ROM image to me (not recommended)

My advice: Don't use VTI. Failing that, the OS files will double as a ROM image, at least, I think so. But if you're talking about AMS 3.00, I don't think VTI supports that.

I have tried that, but VTI will not open it because it is not one of the correct file types for VTI to select. The file type is actually .OS_UPGRADE But I cant just rename it. The reason I want this is because I am learning ASM and I want to be able just press the green play button on TIGCC IDE rather than having to save it and then load it on to the TI-Flash Studio.

You mean, you're learning TIGCC. That's a form of C, and isn't really ASM. Not many people do raw ASM on the 68k's.

And why cannot you rename the OS? Make sure that windows (if that's what you're running) is displying file extensions, and then rename it to what VTI wants.

Late 89/89t ROMs will not run on VTI. I heard people say that ROM files will run on VTI but they never did for me, only ones that ran are the direct ROM dumps from my calcs. Anyway, unless you own a real calc you can't legally have a ROM of that calc. Everyone should keep that in mind, so don't post any links or anything of that sort (same applies to ROM requests on public boards, we've been thru many problems regarding this issue before so let's not repeat it).
