Ti Connect had been working fine for my ti-89 titanium until recently. It recognizes the calculator (I can select the device with no problems), but when I open device explorer or device info, the program crashes. I can't make a backup, and I can't update my os. When I try to send a file, I get an error message that says "Unable to send file x.89z". I've tried reinstalling it, downloading it again, and installing 1.5 beta. I am using WinXP, if that helps.

Edit
You probably should reinstall the USB driver. Put in the TI-Connect CD (hopefully you have it) and put in the USB link. Then click yes if it tells you that the software needs to be installed.

Write a flaming e-mail to TI stating your extreme displeasure wwith their crude and seriously flawed software. Just kidding, don't do that. Try downloading the new version of TI-connect, 1.6

I tried that, but it still is having the same problem. Also, I hadn't made any changes to my computer before it stopped working.

Actually, that is what he should do. Minus the flaming of course. Just notify them of the problem. ti-cares@ti.com

lol. I did that, and they sent me a new 89!

Do you have any other calcs, or maybe you could borrow someone elses calc, like an 83+, and see if you can get it to work. I had problems that sometimes it worked fine, but sometimes I had to find a calc that it would communicate with, and then after that it worked fine again for a while...

I sent an email to Ti, and am waiting for a response. Don't thing I'll get any free gifts, though :img19:. I tried connecting an 83, and still had the same problem.

Blow up your computer and get a new one. Or maybe you have a virus on your computer. Try scanning it with Ad-aware 6.0 plus se

I scanned my comp and didn't find anything, and no other programs are behaving strangely, so I probably don't have a virus. I could try forcing my calc into the reboot screen, then sending the OS without using TI SendTo (I read something about doing this on TI's website). I know I would lose the flash apps if I did this, but what about the archive?

Edit
You will lose all info on the calc, so you need to back it up.

yeah, i'm having this problem with mine also, so the solution is to often communicate with other calculators right? but somehow I got it to work, I plugged it in another usb port, then back in the original port. It transferred two files sucessfully so try that.

Wow, I've been having the same problems >_<

HAving a Titanium is kinda harder than having a normal 89, it has too many problems thus far (Game incompatibility, THIS, Vti not working with it, ect.)

I am going to send an E-mail to them and see what pops up, this was only yesterday when i notcied i couldnt send files to/from computer... I hope its not permanent, because it is going to injure my interest in becoming a programmer for the 89.
