It says I am forbidden. What should I do?

Edit
The site probably ran out of bandwidth, check back to it later...

Craziest thing I've ever seen. It says forbidden but if you hit reload it comes up fine. Lemme try some variations:

http://www.technicalc.org/tifaq/
http://www.technicalc.org/tifaq/index.htm
http://www.technicalc.org/tifaq/?games.htm
http://www.technicalc.org/tifaq/index.htm?games.htm

Seems to work okay if I actually reference index.htm in the link. Go figure.

Now only one of the four links works, and that probably because it was in the browser cache. The actual reload button does nothing, but if I stick the cursor in the address bar and hit enter it loads right up.

And AFAIK it's only a problem with links from calcgames.org, which is probably the strangest part.

Edit: Does http://tifaq.cjb.net/ work?

Worked for me.

Perhaps your host doesn't like all the referalls from us?

All four are down now. :-\
But the other FAQ link does, perhaps we should point to that?

Yeah, go ahead and use the cjb.net link for now, it's better than the alternative.

More testing:

http://www.technicalc.org/fpw/
http://www.technicalc.org/tiplist/

Edit:I've been informed that the link to my games page on http://education.ti.com/us/student/games/games.html doesn't work either and have confirmed it here. So it seems no links into technicalc.org work unless the page is already in your browser cache. However, pasting the URL in to the address bar of the browser works fine. I'm gonna go poke our hosting provider.

Later I discovered that links from google, ticalc.org, and webring still worked. I reported it all to our webhost and here's the story:

Currently, the bane of the internet is a phenomenon called 'referer spam'(sic). Automated bots send hundreds of thousands, even millions, of requests a day to servers with an 'avertising' payload in the refer section of the message.

Generally, these 'refers' have messages about cialis, casinos, and other such spammy things. To make sure our systems don't fail, we've had to block requests that have these sorts of refer payloads. One of the patterns we match on is 'games' - and in fact, the people who are visiting your page are being refered from a site named games.html. So you are false-positiving our security measures.

I went back through the logs and looked at the load caused by referers with 'games' in the refer address. The load caused by spammers is fairly low, so I have pulled that rule. Sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered - unfortunately, due to the nature of spam on the net, we don't really have a choice in doing so.

That makes sense, glad that it could be resolved, your FAQ is the most extensive by far to any other I've seen. Our local one is mainly something for quick responses to simple questions.

Well thanks. Mine is for quick answers to (usually) simple questions too, it's just had a lot more time to accumulate lots of different entries. I should add the one here to the list of other FAQs I've got on the main page. I think my games page has an outdated link to your game guide too, I should fix that too.
