I am current working on an updater program. A program that acts just like the ones on computers, it overwrites, deletes, and/or adds specific lines of code in a program. I just finished making a test run version on my TI-83+ and I am quite proud of the results. NOW onto what I need help on to work the program needs both Celtic2 (I use v2.2) and a program named options. Celtic2 does the replacement work while, Options locks and unlocks the program. now the problem is Celtic2 does not like my TI-84SE, and obviously this is something I would prefer having work. (This might also be true of options too, but I haven't tested options for bugging yet...) SO I need an alternative, an updated program, or someone to code the asm needed(because as much as I'd like to do it myself, I cannot program in asm to save my life...yet)

Edit: I've just updated to Celtic2 v2.4, but going over the readme I think I've had problems with this version before and that's why I sought out the outdated version.

I am unsure what problems you could possibly be having with Celtic2, as I am using it extensively, and have used it on the 84+/SE without any problems. Are you sure you are using the syntaxes correctly?

I've tried multiple times for several days, this has actually been a problem since I started using Celtic2. Only one of the functions works, that is the one used to create programs. But if you say it does work (and you of all people should know considering what all the things you're trying to accomplish), then I have no choice but to try it again tomorrow and see what I can com up with. BTW When Pokemon Purple is released will we need all the programs (Celtic2, etc.) to run them, or is there another way to run stuff like that without those programs being used?

Those programs will be included in the zip file, in their respective folders, RAM and Archive. But yes, you will definitely need them.

Ugh I've spent nearly the entire day trying to learn to use asm, and it is absolutely NOT working. I've got hardly any idea of how it works, I many never learn how to store number to permanent variables, and to top it all of I have NO completely functioning emulator; which basic means one thing: I copy non-working source code in the hopes that it will work, then troubleshoot it up the butt, and then finally transfer it to my 83+ for the much awaited event: the RAM clear. And as for your reply on your own board TIfreak, (I didn't want to take up anymore space on your board. (P.S. I hope to get one of my own soon, if possible.)) I am sure the syntax is right I double, triple, quadruple, etc. check it. (I have 3 45-minute study halls lined up in a row in school, I can get VERY board.) It just doesn't work and as for asm, this program is really one of the first I've used; and I REALLY hope that other programs are more stable than this.

P.S. thanks for the referral for the resource program, it looks like it's exactly one of the things I will need for running my program. Especially, if it ends up being as big as I think it will be. Still I'm a little worried about someone having to install all of these utilities on their calc, I mean maybe I'm just ill motivated sometimes; but when I down load a game or something and it requires like four or five different variables to be installed with it, I sometime stop and forget about it. I suppose it's one of the reasons why I wanted to learn asm is so I can make a customized utility to do everything I need.
