KTIGCC hits version 1.00allynfolksjr
Kevin Kofler's project for Google's Summer of Code 2006, TIGCC IDE for Linux (KTIGCC), is now at version 1.00. From their website, "The goal of the project is to provide on the Linux/GNU/X11 platform (X11 is required for the IDE only) the same features TIGCC provides on Win32, including an IDE: KTIGCC." More information can be found at the official KTIGCC website, and can be downloaded here.

When asked about the reasons behind this project (besides the $4,000+ from Google), Kofler had this to add: "Command-line TIGCC was cross-platform thanks to the earlier TIGCC/*nix efforts by Henri Moilanen and Romain Liévin which I completed, but TIGCC IDE was still Windows only -- So I felt an IDE for GNU/Linux and other *nix systems was needed."

We congratulate Kofler and the entire TIGCC team for their efforts!

Re: KTIGCC hits version 1.00bcherry
sweet! this definitely is an important step towards getting me to finish Metroid. Since I switched to Linux, I couldn't use the IDE anymore and I had not yet learned all of the options for the commandline TIGCC, since I'd been using the Windows IDE for all of my previous projects. Who knows, maybe some progress will start occuring once school starts and I get my desktop back up and running.
