Umm, yeah, that is how many new files were updated. You are asked to assist in testing these games/programs out, make sure they work, and are what they claim to be.

Hmm, before, it showed the 10 or so newest files, not all of the files added in the past week or so.

It has always been all of the files from the past 7 days. On CalcGames.org, it has a minimum of 10 files... so if there aren't 10 from the last 7 days, it'll still display the 10 most recent. On CalcG.org, there is no minimum (so it could potentially display 0).

Ok, I've added some extra room for the menu (on CalcGames.org) by making the side/corner images smaller. It actually looks a LOT better to me... the menu items are now 150 pixels wide instead of 139... doesn't seem like that big of a difference, but it really is. There is also more room for the main items.

You might want to change the "General Programming" title to something else, since there are only two pages now.

Off of haveacalc's idea, use the phrase "Forums."

I hear it's the hottest name out there right now.

they are both basically the same thing.

However, most of the updates in the future will be done to CalcG.org.

Use whichever one you prefer.

Ok, now the folders are in categories... Some of the folders were getting way too big (for example, 83+ BASIC...)... All of the administrators have the ability to place files in certain categories... just go to the "Uncategorized" pages and you will see that there is a little iframe with a form for each uncategorized file. If you have ANY free time, that's something you can do... I've already categorized a few hundred files... there are a few assembly ones left and about a million BASIC ones left (and pretty much all of the flash ones...)... but if we can each do a few every day we'll have all of the files categorized in no time.

Is there anyone who would be willing to be a temporary administrator for the purpose of putting the rest of the files in specific categories? We could use 2 or 3 more people to do it so that it gets done quickly. Afterwards, if you do a good job, you just may become a forum moderator, content manager, or perhaps a full on administrator.

Ok, when you go to the file list pages (on CalcG.org only), if there are any files that are "Uncategorized" you will see a little form thingy. Fill each one out CAREFULLY and CORRECTLY (look at other files that are already categorized to get a feel for where each file should go)... then press enter for each one that you edit.

Don't mess up... you don't have the ability to edit them afterwards.

If you mess up, let me know so i can fix it.

There are especially a lot of uncategorized ones in the BASIC sections.

Don't touch the shells.

(Only administrators and haveacalc will see the form entry thingies... if anyone else wants to help, let me know).

Keep in mind that each one is its own iframe and its own form. You have to press enter for each one individually, and you don't have to fill out all of them at once... you can leave and come back later and the ones that you haven't filled out will still be there.

Well, the only programs that are still in "Uncategorized" belong there. The only thing is that some of the graphics and utility programs should be switched around.

I would have done the games section, but my poor old mac froze up every time I got there.

@Barrett: I'd like to help out; I'll do TI-83/84 BASIC games, if nobody else is doing them.

Actually, scratch that. Even if someone else is doing them, that is a category of several hundered files. So I'll do them anyway, if I can.

Only when the BASIC games window was the only one open did Firefox not crash for me (:O). I knocked it down from 152 to 118. 136 files (including the program section) is really all the manual labor I'm good for in a 24-hour period with other commitments.

I'm not saying for any browser-loyalty reasons, I'm saying it because Safari and Opera would both handle it better than Firefox.

Microsoft sucks! Windows is an INFERIOR product that is only continued due to ILLEGAL ENDORSEMENTS from Microsoft to the major game companies! IE is an inferior BROWSER that is only still alive because Microsoft won a battle to package it with its OS in court due to a technicality! In fact, the only thing even REMOTELY as evil as Microsoft is Google! How can you POSSIBLY claim that IE is better than Firefox?!?!?

I mean, excluding Whiptail Intercraptive.

Edit: It seems that the BBB has caught up with them. Their site has been bought out by a search-fake-engine thingee.

I use the latest version of FF for three reasons.
Dark Skins
Spell check
I'm too Lazy to Download Opera

Bad things about ff;
Doesn't show all CSS
A-lot of JS doesn't work.

Bad things about IE;
It is too forgiving in code errs.
IE7 doesn't have an ftp manager.

In my opinion they both suck.
If I had to choose then I would say IE over FF. Never used Opera So I don't know.

Opera isn't shrill and high-pitched, it's also low. Probably lower than you could ever hit. Plus the name/logo is probably the worst possible thing to base your decision off of. Seriously, I'm guessing you have more teeth than brain cells.
