Ok so heres the deal about my problem. So I got my new TI-84 plus and ofcourse being big into geek stuff and not being bored in school I want some games on it. So I get the Ion os. I install it fine and I get a few games for it. All the games I get for it work fine in Ion except for when I tried to play Alien Breed IV: Final Assault (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/204/20452.html). I select it in Ion and the screen goes blank then I get zipped to the start screen where it says

TI-84
v2.41

RAM CLEARED

So I am confused so I try to go back and run it it again I got to programs and their is no A available. SO I have to transfer Ion back over to my calc. I unpack it fine, but when I go to run it I get hit with a ERR: UNDEFINED. The Ion program I am trying to run is stored in the RAM by the way. So I do a bit more investigating and find another file in my memeory called ION but its in the archive and I can't transfer it to RAM, I don't know if that helps but it might. So any suggestions, can I do I clean install of my calc's os like it cam from the factory ? Also I do have a backup of the calculator when it came from the factory v2.40, but will it do anything if I restore it?

Use MirageOS instead of ION.

@3fg:you didnt answer his question.

There is no need to restart you calc. just delet all the parts of ION, and resend it to your calc. BUT WAIT! Turn these items into a GROUP so next time you dont have to resend the instalation parts of ION to your calc, you'll just ungroup them. Reinstall ION and try the game out again. For better luck you may want to try and keeping the game that you want to use unarchived. ION supports having your games archived, but its never perfect.

You should also get Mirage. ION is a good thing to have, because there are some great games that only work on ION.

YOU NOOBS!!!!!
JEez. all that happened was you downloaded a frickin game that was not compatible with ION or TI-84+. only download games that end with .8XP or the like. READ THE README FILES!!!! I cannot stress this enough. a lot of files do not work with ION or TI-84+. Mirage is not needed for ION to work properly. I just created this account to tell you this, be happy I did.

cpuwhiz11: ticalc.org link doesn't work for some reason? I'll assume you mean this.

kirby12: First of all, that's not nice =(. Second, you might want to follow your own advice and read the readme file, which states:
PLATFORMS: Ion, MirageOS, TI-86-OS, most TI-86 shells
LANGUAGE: Z80 Assembly
And if you check the zip contents, you'll see that there is indeed an .8xp version. However, the game was written before the existence of the 84+, so it is possible that the game is simply incompatible with it.

OP: Resend Ion (or Mirage or whatever shell you're in the mood for) and make sure you follow instructions carefully is all I can think of >_>

This game works fine on MirageOS on an 84+SE. You can only have one levelset unarchived at a time.
