Graphics/Interface: 8/10 Many complain about the ASCII graphics. Then again, many haven't actually played Rogue on a computer =)
Playability/Usability: 9/10 As long as you're good at Diablo-type games.
Replay Value/Reuse Value: 10/10 Random dungeons. 'Nuff said.
Controls/Interface: 9/10 Easy to remember layout, once you learn it.
Overall Value: 10/10 !!!

This is a port of the game Rogue, from the 80's era of PCs. (That game was all ASCII - which is why this game is.) It is quite addictive, and quite fun. Just be aware that you may have to restart a few times at the beginning, because the random distribution can REALLY fark you over (ex. No food rations were spawned in the opening dungeon, leading my character to starve to death ...). Also note that it is much more difficult than more recent forays in the genre ... retreat is an easily viable alternative to combat ;)

As said by another reviewer, go download the newest version (Beta 6c) at http://calcrogue.jimrandomh.org/ - it'll add a lot to the game, and save you a lot of hassle. The newer versions are also Titanium-compatible ...

Warning: Addictive game!

Graphics/Interface: 1/10 $ux0r
Playability/Usability: 9/10 Great gameplay with lot of stuff to find and discover
Replay Value/Reuse Value: 10/10 Forever with the randomized dongeons!
Controls/Interface: 6/10 I think that it should be better if you could move using arrows instead of 0-9 keys
Overall Value: 5/10 Good in general

Comments:
This game offer some cool RPG elements with cool gameplay, lot of features and lot of replay value (random dungeons). The only problem is that the graphics are horrible (altough there's grayscale) and the controls aren't great but still, it's a worthwile download.

Graphics/Interface: 8/10 The simplicity and grayscale are great, but the ASCII pickups could be better.
Playability/Usability: 10/10 Between the random dungeons, tons of monster, and other items, this game is one of the best out there.
Replay Value/Reuse Value: 9/10 The random dungeons are key here in making this great for replays.
Controls/Interface: 8/10 It takes a while to get used to the number pad thing, but it's worth it. And there is the quick reference.
Overall Value: 9/10 This game is just great, really.

This game is awesome. Don't try it unless you have tons of free time though, it's incredibly addicting. And incidently, you'll want to go to the author's website if you want to get it, as the version here is 4 full versions and over a year behind.

Graphics/Interface: 4/10 The graphics are very simple using ASCII for (I.E. $ for money, K for Kobald, etc...) Four color grayscale does add a bit though.
Playability/Usability: 8/10 Controls are easy, especially with the built in reference. May take some time to master but a better game for it.
Replay Value/Reuse Value: 7/10 A randomn dungeon creater gives you a brand new playing field every time but items get a bit repetitive after a while sice you can get the bost powerful of weapons on the first level easily so as you
Controls/Interface: 9/10 I don't rate many things 9... The controls would be hard... but... QUICK REFERENCE!!! It makes everything REALLY easy, just look it up!
Overall Value: 7/10 All it needs is custom graphics and tiles, and maybe randomn weapons if that can be pulled up.

I AM ADDICTED! Only download if you have time or you will be hidding your calculator in your binder during class playing the game and looking up to make sure the teacher isn't watching. Great game with awesome replay value until the weapons get to repetitive. Besides that and the graphics there isn't much more that could be asked for.

Graphics/Interface: 8/10 Basic, but easy to understand.
Playability/Usability: 9/10 Platability is very good with a quick reference in the prog itself, looking at the readme becomes a thing of the past.
Replay Value/Reuse Value: 10/10 The game is very addicting. If you have a lot of time on your hands this is the game for you. Randomly generated dungeons add to the replay value.
Controls/Interface: 7/10 Using the number pad for movement is abit annoying, and takes a while to get used to. A lot of the other keys are spread apart and hard to remember.
Overall Value: 8/10 The simplicity of the game is its strong point, but having a lot of controls to remember or have to look up frequently (i.e. equip, use item, etc.) Otherwise it is a worthy "clone" of rogue.

Comments:
Overall this is a good game. The controls as I mentioned were a bit of a hassle, but with a reference on the calc it makes it a bit easier. The graphics are simple and overall ok. Using ASCII characters as items makes you somewhat clueless on what your picking up. With the scoring system you can keep track on how well you are doing, but I'd like to see a high score recording system.

Final word: Very good game with room for improvement.
